Richland Announces Dallas College Legacy Award Finalists

Dallas College Richland announced its finalists for the Dallas College Legacy Award.

Each recipient will earn a chance to be inducted into Dallas College Athletics Lifetime Legacy Lore. The Legacy Award honors former Dallas College student-athletes and coaches who distinguished themselves through exceptional athletic and academic performances at their respective campuses, and who have continued to excel in their professional and personal lives long after their playing days. These individuals represent the highest standards of leadership, excellence and impact – both within Dallas College and in the communities they serve.

 

Tito Salas 

 

Tito Salas played on the men's soccer team at Dallas College Richland in 2006 and 2007. In both years, the Thunderducks won the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national championship. 

Salas has gone on to dedicate over 16 years serving Dallas Independent School District as a coach, teacher and administrator.

 

Sean Worley

 

Sean Worley coached the men's soccer team at then-Richland College, turning the Thunderducks into a national powerhouse in NJCAA Division III from 1996-2018, capturing seven national championships, to become one of the most decorated men's soccer coaches in NJCAA history.

Worley was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/United Soccer Coaches College Coach of the Year in 2002, 2003 and 2018 – the latter when the organization recognized the team's entire staff. He was inducted into the NJCAA Men's Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011.

Worley works as an adjunct physical education professor at Dallas College.
