Bell Selected as DAC Hitter of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Richland's Brandon Bell was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

A freshman left fielder from Moody, Texas, Bell batted .500 with four home runs, a double, nine runs batted in, eight runs scored and a walk as the Thunderducks went 2-2 and won a three-game series with Dallas College Cedar Valley. He homered and had multiple hits in each of the four games, and drove in four runs in the 12-6 Game 1 victory over the Suns. Bell was 3 for 5 with a homer and a double in that win. He went 2 for 6 with a home run and two RBI in the series-clinching 17-16 victory decided in the ninth inning.

Bell is hitting .378 with 16 doubles, 10 home runs and 48 RBI.

Richland, which climbed up to second place on its own in the DAC with its 22-23-1 overall, 14-10 league record, is set to begin a three-game series with No. 1-ranked Dallas College Eastfield (37-11, 21-3) at noon Wednesday.
