Posten Picked as DAC Pitcher of Week

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's JT Posten was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

It is the second time this season he's won the award.

A freshman right-hander from Kempner, Texas, Posten pitched five scoreless innings, allowing one hit and four walks, and struck out five to get the win in relief against top-ranked Dallas College Eastfield.

Posten improved to 7-1 with two saves, a 4.24 earned run average and 52 strikeouts in 63.2 innings this season. His seven victories are tied for fourth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III.

Richland (23-25-1, 15-12 DAC) will finish the regular season in a series with Dallas College North Lake (24-28, 14-13) this week, beginning with Wednesday's DAC Game of the Week on the DAC Sports Network. The Thunderducks, who were ranked No. 16 in the country last week, are in a battle with North Lake and Dallas College Brookhaven (23-25, 16-11) for the No. 2 seed in the NJCAA Division III Central District Tournament May 13-16 at Eastfield. The top two teams in the DAC standings earn a first round bye in the postseason tournament. Eastfield has locked down the No. 1 seed.
