Cruz Named Second Team Academic All-American®

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland men's soccer player Alexis Cruz was named a College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American®.

A sophomore defender from Houston, Cruz had a 3.90 grade point average in general studies.

He was a National Junior College Athletic Association Division III First Team All-American, the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player and First Team All-DAC. He scored seven goals, and had four assists for 18 points in helping Richland advance to the national championship game, where the Thunderducks finished as the national runner-up for a second straight year. Cruz had two gamewinning goals.

The CSC Academic All-America program is nominated and voted on by the nation's athletic communications directors across the country and Canada.
