Thunderducks Earn Three All-DAC Honors, Beard Offensive Player of Year

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland women's basketball's Paris Beard was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Beard is joined by Logan Ross as First Team All-DAC selections. Myka Beltran was a Second Team pick.

A 5-foot-5 freshman guard from Mount Pleasant, Texas, Beard averaged 25.2 points per game, which ranked second among National Junior College Athletic Association Division III leaders. She ranked third in field goal percentage (58.6). Beard set the school records for points in a game (44) and field goals made (17) versus Southwestern Assemblies of God University Junior Varsity Feb. 12. She also hit 17 field goals four days earlier, scoring 43 points in a win at Dallas College Mountain View. Beard also averaged 7.6 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.2 assists. She was named the NJCAA Division III Player of the Week Nov. 20, and collected three DAC Player of the Week honors.

Ross, a 5-11 sophomore forward from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and just under a steal per game. She had a career-high 25 points in a win over East Texas Baptist University Junior Varsity Feb. 5.

A 5-3 freshman from Mesquite, Texas, Beltran scored a season-high five points in the final game of the year against No. 7 Dallas College Cedar Valley, and had three rebounds in two games. She shot 66.7 percent from the free throw line.
