Richland Volleyball Begins Season Aug. 21

RICHLAND VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's volleyball team will begin the season Aug. 21 at home against Temple College and Collin College.

Under first-year head coach Kelly Covert, the Thunderducks will play 15 matches at home.

Following the season opener, Richland will play at Rose State College Aug. 23 before returning home for five matches. The Thunderducks host Vernon College and Lee College Aug. 27. Two days later, they host the Richland Tournament, and will play Temple College and Coffeyville Community College Aug. 29 and Independence Community College Aug. 30.

After a road trip to Temple Sept. 1, the Thunderducks will play a home-and-home with Hill College Sept. 2 and Sept. 4, with the first of those two matches at Richland. They host Rose State Sept. 8 and Southwestern Adventist University Sept. 9. Richland then will compete in the Independence (Kansas) Community College Tournament Sept. 12-13 for matches against Independence, Fort Scott Community College, East Central College and Ottawa University (Kansas) Junior Varsity.

The Thunderducks play at Collin Sept. 15 and Southwestern Adventist the next day before matching up with the likes of Wharton County Junior College, Pratt Community College and College of DuPage at the Blinn Invitational Sept. 19-20.

Richland will start Dallas Athletic Conference play Sept. 22 at Dallas College Cedar Valley. The first home league match is Sept. 25 against Dallas College Mountain View. The Thunderducks meet two-time defending National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national champion Dallas College Eastfield on the road Sept. 29. They host Dallas College North Lake Oct. 2 before wrapping up the first round of conference action at Dallas College Brookhaven Oct. 6.

The second round of DAC play begins Oct. 9 against Cedar Valley at home. The Thunderducks host Eastfield Oct. 16, and will conclude the regular season at home Oct. 23 against Brookhaven.

The NJCAA Division III District Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 29-Nov. 1 at the site of the DAC regular season champion.
