No. 2 Richland Runs Streak to 11 in Win over No. 6 Eastfield

DALLAS – Dallas College Richland's No. 2 nationally-ranked men's basketball team beat No. 6 Dallas College Eastfield 70-55 Saturday.

It was the Thunderducks' first game in nine days, following the ice and snow storm that hit the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex last week.

Richland (15-6, 8-0 Dallas Athletic Conference) has won 11 in a row, and improved to 10-0 at home. The Thunderducks take a two-game lead in the league into Monday's 6 p.m. tip at home against Dallas College Mountain View (6-16, 1-7).

Three players scored in double figures for Richland, which built a 15-point halftime lead, and maintained control in matching Eastfield (14-7, 6-2) with 34 points in the second half. Dre Rutledge hit six of eight shots, and went 4 for 5 from the free throw line off the bench to finish with 16 points and three steals. Joubron Bebe had 15 points off the bench, going 4 of 5 from the floor and 7 for 7 from the free throw stripe. Starter Jase Tarver had 14 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal. He was 7 of 11 shooting.

The Thunderducks hit 51 percent of their field goals, going 27 of 53. They were 12 for 14 at the stripe.

DJ Willis finished with seven points, seven boards, four assists and a steal.

Following Monday's home game, Richland will finish the second round of conference play at No. 9 Dallas College North Lake (14-8, 6-2) at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
